Manchester City — Sevilla 3:1. Having lost the first half of the game Sky Blues win the game.

A goal from 17-year-old Rico Lewis helps Manchester City to a comeback against Sevilla to end the Champions League group stage with a 3-1 victory.

The Cityzens’ starting line-up prove to be frankly experimental, even including young defender Rico Lewis. Sergio Gomez, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Julian Alvarez round out the young squad.

Despite a huge number of changes to the squad, City look good early on and has two chances to open the scoring, but neither Ruben Dias nor Ilkay Gündogan hit the post.

Sevilla, on the other hand, doesn’t let their chance slip away. In the 31st minute, Rafa Mir, dropps near the far post, heads the ball in from a corner to make it 0-1.

The visitors then focuse on maintaining their advantage. The rest of the half saw the home side take a few more poor shots.

Having failed to level the score in the first half, the Cityzens do so in the second. In the 52nd minute, Alvarez makes a great pass to the right edge of the penalty area, where Lewis fires a shot into the near corner of the goal – 1-1.

With the score level, City look to score the winning goal and, on 73 minutes, manages to do so. Substitute Kevin de Bruyne makes a simply brilliant pass from the right flank to Alvarez, who shots into the penalty area, eluding the keeper and from a sharp angle his the empty net — 2:1.

The match comes to an end in the 83rd minute when the stubborn Alvarez takes a tackle from a defender near the net and generously shares the ball with Riyad Mahrez to make it 3-1.

Even with this line-up, and even conceding first, City prove too strong for Spaniards. In the second half, City prove this convincingly.
