Manchester City — Chelsea 1:0. Let’s take a look.
Ederson. A real save from Lukaku.
Joao Cancelo. Didn’t strain the foes and earned his formal goal pass quite honestly.
Laporte. Mighty breasted the goal from Werner. 83 assists (93%).
John Stones. Generally managed to defend the penalty area from an awful (in terms of efficiency) Lukaku. 3 takeaways.
Walker. Directly pointed out to Ziyech what respect is due to deserving veterans of the sport
Rodri. Honestly expected a big effort from the Pensioners , and the ones the Spaniard did have were easily thwarted.
Kevin de Bruyne. A familiar sight — genius in motion.
Bernardo. The usual bundle of energy. 3 tackles, interception, card to Kovacic.
Grealish. The world’s most expensive goalkeeper tried to give him a chance, but missed and banged the ball into the innocent countryman with all his might. But when Kovacic had already shown some profitably kindness, Grealish couldn’t keep out a shot past Kepa.
Sterling. Elegant as a grand piano was destroying poor Alonso. Yes, there were probably fouls in the penalty area, but when two teams of this calibre (not Arsenal of some sort) are playing, these kinds of penalties shouldn’t humiliate the game.
Foden. Played the thankless role of centre-forward without a shine, but diligently. Three tackles, could have hit nine from Sterling’s rebound.
So tough but stillccomfortable win: Manchester City — Chelsea 1:0. Nice squad’s job!
