Liverpool have never had so few points after their first eight games of the Premier League season in the last 10 years. Manchester City are unbeaten in 22 league outings in a row, a club record. Manchester City have won only two of their 25 away meetings with the Reds in the Premier League.

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson could play in the Premier League for the first time in the last six weeks. Curtis Jones has also recovered but Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Luis Diaz will not help the team. Ibrahima Konate is questionable.

City have to make do without John Stones, Kyle Walker and Calvin Phillips. Bernardo Silva and Erling Haalland are specially rested for the midweek Champions League match against Copenhagen.
