City reach the FA Cup final by thumping Sheffield United 3-0 at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London.
The match at Wembley begins with a moment at the Blades. Iliman Ndiaye shoots from close range, but Stefan Ortega, who replaces Ederson in the Cityzens‘ goal, chooses his position well and takes the ball.
In the 15th minute, City respond with an attack of their own. Erling Haaland strikes from distance, but referee Stuart Attewell calls a foul on City.
The Championship champions withstands the pressure very decently and don’t allow the opponents to create any clear-cut chances. However, in the 41st minute, Bernardo Silva is brought down in the box and Riyad Mahrez converts a penalty to make it 1-0.
After the break, City play rather pragmatically and in the 61st minute, they catch their opponents starting to open up. Mahrez intercepts the ball in the centre circle, makes a run into the opposition penalty area and rolls a goal into the net for 2-0.
Five minutes later, unable to recover from the conceded goal, Sheffield concede for a third time. Jack Grealish crosses from the left edge of the penalty area into the centre of the area, where the same Marez takes a touching shot to make it 3-0.
The Cityzens have chances to score again, but they decide to save their strength and limit themselves to three goals.
City win a typical victory in class, with little effort. For Sheffield United, the FA Cup is just a bonus because the Blades’ priority is to qualify for the Premier League.
