ManCity — WestHam 2:1

ManCity — WestHam 2:1. Their takeover of Snowtown failed, but the ironmen once again lived up to their name.

Ederson. Didn’t miss much; Rice’s shot was a full-fledged save, and Lanzini’s goal could hardly be deflected.

Joao Cancelo. Scooped a pre-goal pass halfway down the pitch.

Laporte. If he had ricocheted a couple of centimetres more, he could have easily put the beautiful player under the far post (and not into it). But then centimetres came to the Basque’s rescue – another five and it could have been a penalty…

Ruben Dias. Modestly, but still got 2 selections and 3 takeaways from the Hammers.

Walker. As (almost) all of them took part in goal chances, but missed a chance in the far post. 103 (!) assists.

Rodri. A familiar machine. 4 selections and 80 passes.

Gundogan. Not without reason, player of the match.

Bernardo. Scored the most beautiful of City‘s cancelled and all other goals in this game.

Mahrez. Mercilessly stuck it into the far corner, but from offside. And even his goal pass to Gundogan was questionable because there was a little ricochet. And when no-one else could stop him, he hit the post.

Gabriel Jesus. I think the hammers conspired to do whatever it took (Johnson and Creswell especially) to stop him scoring an honest and deserved goal.

Sterling. Just a firework of scoring chances: a non-goal pass to Mahrez, then to Jesus, to Gundogan… and a very pretty shot into the same forbidden for City far corner of the Iron goal. They say he wants to stay. ManCity — WestHam 2:1!
