Klopp is taking legal action after being accused in media outlets of xenophobia against Manchester City’s owners.
Jurgen Klopp says: “I don’t feel, in this specific case, I don’t feel it at all. I know myself. You can’t hit with something which is miles away from my personality. If I was — I cannot remember the word, wow! — I’d hate it. I’d hate myself for being like this.
I’ve said a lot of things that were a little open for misunderstanding. I know. It was not intentional, just sometimes you say things and you think, ‘Oh my God! It can be interpreted like this?’ But this is not one of these moments. Absolutely.”
The FA have accused Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp of inappropriate behaviour during last Sunday’s Premier League match against Manchester City.
Klopp saw a red card in front of him in the 86th minute of Liverpool’s victorious match against the reigning Premier League champions (1-0).
That was referee Anthony Taylor’s response to Jurgen’s furious attack on the linesman who failed to register a foul on Reds striker Mohamed Salah by Bernardo Silva.
The association has given Klopp until Friday to respond to the accusations, meaning Jurgen was at the lineout during Wednesday’s Premier League home game against West Ham.
Klopp said after the final whistle that he was not proud of his behaviour and deserved a suspension.
