Jurgen Klopp on Manchester City: “I can say all the compliments for them, because it is incredible. The stability that City are showing, their skill… They are a team full of great players.

And then, and this is the hardest part, you have to let all these talented guys know how important it is to give their all on the pitch. And they do! I really respect that a lot and we do it too. It’s the same combination.

We are different teams with similar skills and I’m not sure that “intense” is the right word anymore. The level at which we push each other is insane.

And look, just being close to them without making the finals wouldn’t be that cool, because being a point behind is still a point behind. Close, but not where we wanted to be. But we made it to the finals, won two of them and have to go through another one. All this makes for a really enjoyable season.

I probably have a bit of rose-tinted glasses, but I think as a neutral fan, it’s great to look at it and think, “Wow, what are they doing? They’re really battling until the very end.” It’s great to be a part of that because of how strong our opponent is.”
