Ferran Torres leaves Mancity — the veil of perhaps the most mysterious transfer of January is being lifted — why Ferran Torres irresistibly wants to give up a decent salary and bright trophy chances and follow in the footsteps of Erik Garcia.
It’s all love’s fault! With that lingering ‘oooh’. Allegedly, Ferran was turned on his head by Sira Martinez. And Sira isn’t some computer-generated device (although it sounds similar), but Luis Enrique’s daughter. The one.
- First, albeit a former Barcelona coach.
- Second, there’s no way the spunky couple can indulge in a relationship this far apart anymore. So they decided to do something stupid when they were young…
Ferran Torres leaves Mancity. Some bargain details
There’s already been talk of selling Ferran Torres on every corner. Straight up for £55m.
And that deal doesn’t seem mind-boggling at all. Yes, at Valencia’s yard sale Torres went for just £25m, a gesheft of sorts.
But (there will be a few):
- Torres is only 21 years old (!), he’s awesome, a Spanish national team player, contract until 2025. In other words, £55m is monstrously low. And simply humiliating compared to the price of Coutinho or Dembele.
- There is no £55m. Only £46.7m is promised and the rest are bonuses, more specifics yet to be said, but there is a suggestion that there is no Sun and Tau Kita Championship win there. Although, when the Catalans quickly resell Torres for a decent sum, City will be due another £8.5m.
- More of that million just isn’t physically available to the bankrupt club. To buy Torres, you have to first sell something completely unnecessary. And since no one has given it away, even the guaranteed forty million will have to wait until the Suns and Tau Keith win the Championship.
Who can City get even for £55m? How much would a decent 21 year old pick be worth? Somewhat more expensive than City’s recent recruit named Jack.
All in all, the bottom line is even more deplorable than the one about Sane…
