City crash Bournemouth 1-4 and continue to chase Arsenal.
There is one change in the Cherries starting line-up from last weekend. The injured Marcus Tavernier is replaced by Chris Mepham.
Nathan Ake, Manuel Akanj, Rico Lewis and Julian Alvarez return to the starting line-up, replacing Kyle Walker, Aymeric Laporte, Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne.
City immediately take the initiative, but attack at a leisurely pace. In addition, Bournemouth operate in an extremely close-knit manner.
But in the end, the hosts hold on until the 15th minute. Erling Haaland ricochets a shot over the crossbar and the ball bounce straight to Alvarez. Julian’s second touch hits the net to make it 0-1.
After a brief pause, the 29th minute sees the visitors level the scores. The defender prevents Phil Foden from crossing the ball from the flank, but Haaland gets the ball and Erling heads it in from close range to make it 0-2.
Bournemouth score a couple of good attacks before conceding a third goal towards the end of the first half. Philip Billing, trying to make a pass across the box, simply gives the ball to Foden, who bursts inside the area and shoots past the goalkeeper to make it 0-3.
Soon after the start of the second half, the ball bounces off Alvarez in the box and Julian ricochets off Mephem to put Cherries in front, 0-4.
Four goals saturate the SkyBlues, who still have the initiative but attack leisurely. Bournemouth make timid attempts to clear the scores and do so in the 83rd minute. Jefferson Lerma takes the ball in the centre of the box before firing a shot towards goal to make it 1-4.
City win an overconfident victory and continue to chase leading Arsenal. Bournemouth can console themselves with a goal of prestige.
