City beat Palace due to Haaland's hat-trick

Erling Haaland’s hat-trick allows Manchester City to beat Palace 4-2.

Ruben Dias and Riyad Mahrez return to the Blues starting line-up, replacing Nathan Ake and Ilkay Gundogan.

For the Eagles, only Nathaniel Clyne replaces Wilfried Zaha, who does not even make the substitution.

The match at the Etihad starts with a quick goal from the visitors. Eberechi Eze crosses from a free-kick into the box where the ball bounces off the knee of John Stones and straight into the goal to make it 0-1.

City, losing the lead, switch to the attacking moves, but Palace defy the pressure and, on 21 minutes, once again show their prowess in the execution of the standards. It is Joakim Andersen who heads the ball in from the centre of the box following a corner-kick by Eze to make it 0-2.

In the first half, the Citizens fail to hit the ball inside the box. On 53 minutes, things begin to look up. Bernardo Silva seizes on the initiative and heads into the penalty area on the right flank, dribbles past the defenders and with the aid of a ricochet from Jeffrey Schlupp, he stricks the near corner – 1:2.

On 62 minutes, the scoreline is level. Phil Foden takes the ball in the penalty area and dribbles it to the goalkeeper’s line, where Erling Haaland heads the ball in – 2-2.

The hosts smell blood and in the 70th minute, they give the injured side the finishing touch. A corner kick from a low pass ends in a Stones shot from the centre of the box and Haaland tips the ball into the net on the far post – 3:2.

In the 81st minute, the intrigue finally dies down. With a pass from Ilkay Gundogan, the powerful Haaland brakes between two defenders and hits the ball into the net – 4:2.

City have two completely different halves. Having Haaland, a ram forward, City quite easy beat Palace.
