Bernardo goes to David Silva’s level. Sky Sports expert Jamie Redknapp believes Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is approaching the level of City legend David Silva.
Bernardo scored a brace in City’s 1–3 win against Watford the previous day to lift his tally to seven goals this Premier League season.
Silva’s superb header has allowed City to grab the lead in the Premier League and Redknapp has not been stingy with his praise for the 27-year-old Portuguese.
“He embodies everything you want to see in a midfielder and that’s what I like about him,” he says.
“When they lose the ball, he’s the first one back to get it back. He has everything. He is so comfortable with the ball.”
“In modern football everything is defined by statistics. And he does everything on the pitch. He’s getting to the level that David Silva matched. He is getting more confident. The coach knows how important he is to his team — Bernardo goes to David Silva’s level ,” says Redknapp.
