Manchester City boss Josep Guardiola has congratulated his striker Julian Alvarez on winning the World Cup in Qatar.
Alvarez, 22, played a key role in Argentina’s triumph at the 2022 World Cup, scoring four goals at the tournament.
Guardiola took the opportunity to congratulate not only Julián, but also two of his former players in Nicolás Otamendi and Lionel Messi.
“As for Julian, we are pleased. He played a lot and made an amazing contribution to the team’s success with his play. We now have a World Champion in our team.”
“We are incredibly happy for him. Congratulations to him, Nico Otamendi, Leo Messi and Argentina as a country – they deserve to be champions,” says Guardiola.
