Bernardo gets new contract!. Manchester City are preparing a new contract with double the salary of their midfielder Bernardo Silva.
The 28-year-old Silva now has three more years left on his current contract with a salary of £150,000 a week.
However, rumours of a possible move for Bernardo to Barcelona or PSG have not subsided in recent weeks and City are hoping to end that speculation with a new deal for the Portuguese national team player.
The new contact will allow Silva to increase his wages dramatically and become the third highest paid player at the Etihad — behind Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, who earn £400,000 and £350,000 every seven days respectively.
It is claimed that it was Josep Guardiola who asked City to offer Silva a new contract. Bernardo remains an important part of the City head coach’s plans and the club are not even considering selling the Portuguese.
